The energy radiated by the sun every year is calculated to be 4.000 times the energy consumed by the worldwide population, it would be a pity not to use it; thanks to the technologies that are available today we can transform this solar energy in AC electrical power, and sell it to electricity management companies in compliance with the applicable laws. Oil dependence and always less bearable air pollution make renewable alternative energy sources an undeniable resource, thanks to the most recent technological solutions photovoltaic plants are less expensive, more efficient and will help us in our battle for environmental safeguard.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photovoltaic systems belong essentially to two large categories: STAND-ALONE and GRID-CONNECTED.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>STAND ALONE<\/strong> photovoltaic systems are generally used to electrify isolated utilities, located far from the power grid, in areas that are not easily accessible or reachable, with low power consumption, for which the connection to the public grid is not advantageous. Through solar panels the system supplies power to a converter that can charge batteries (storage) and that can transform it in electrical power (off-grid inverter) available for users.<\/li>\n<li><strong>GRID CONNECTED<\/strong> photovoltaic systems are connected in parallel to the public electrical grid, are designed to input directly the produced energy into the grid. They are small power plants that can reduce significantly the energy requirement of any utility. In some cases they are true power plants intended for production. They are systems made up of solar panels that power one or more grid-tie inverters designated for the transformation in grid electrical power (alternating current). Some inverters manufacturers foresee also the use of storage systems (at present there are many Lithium-based technologies) that allow to distribute and optimize the produced power even in evening
